Lynda Sonntag, of Eagle, 1958-2006
Eagle resident Lynda Sonntag died at her home on Oct. 20. She was 48.Sonntag was born in Los Angeles and raised in Orange County, California. She lived in California until she married longtime Eagle Valley resident Bob Sonntag in 1992. She left the beach to live in the mountains with Sonntag and his dog, Cutter.
Lynda was a legal secretary who worked for several law firms in the valley, most recently Goodman & Wallace of Edwards. She treasured time spent with Bob and their son, Bobby, and was a loving aunt to her eight nieces and nephews. The highlight of every year was the annual trip she made with Bob and Bobby to Cabo San Lucas, her chance to soak up enough sun, heat and ocean to sustain her throughout the winter, friends and family members said. Lynda’s courage and strength during her battle with cancer have left a lasting impression on those who loved her, friends and family members said.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Bob, and son Bobby of Eagle; her mother, Maria of Eagle; her brother, Scott and wife Diane of Gypsum; and her nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place on Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle Ranch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sonntag Family Fund at any First Bank. That evening friends and family will also be hosting the Sonntag Family Benefit, celebrating Lynda’s life, at 6 p.m. at the Route 6 Cafe in Eagle-Vail.
