Mallory L. Nottingham, Eagle native, 1944-2011

Mallory L. “Mal” Nottingham of Grand Junction, died Sept. 11 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was 67.
He was born May 18, 1944, in Eagle, the son of Arnold and Millie (Snook) Nottingham. He graduated from Eagle Valley High School in 1962 and attended Mesa State College as well as the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Mal served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star for meritorious service. He was the founder of Blossoms Bric A Brac shop at Vail. Mal lived and worked in Denver for many years and moved to Grand Junction in 2000 where he was an enthusiastic lapidarist and “rock hound.”
Mal was preceded in death by his father in 2010. He is survived by his mother, Millie, of Grand Junction; four sisters, Janee Roche, of Manhattan, Kan., Elena Nottingham, of Big Sky, Mont., Aleta Nottingham, of Meeker, and Cheryl Curl, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and one brother, Marlon Nottingham of Grand Junction. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
