Gehrke was born Dec. 18, 1910 in Milwaukee, Wisc., to Clara and Joseph Lane. She married Charles Paul Gehrke on June 26, 1927.-

Irma’s Lutheran faith carried her through the long life she enjoyed, friends and family members said.
Gehrke’s son, Charles Kenneth Gehrke, as well as a grandson and two brothers, preceded her in death.
Gehrke is survived by daughters, Ione Pinsky of Woodlands, Tex., and Ileen “Terry” Schiessl of Eagle. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.—-
