Memorial service set for Dale Johnson of Eagle

Dale Johnson, a Harley Davidson rider and a veteran of two tours in Vietnam who lived in Eagle, died April 18. He was 61. A memorial will be held Saturday.

Friends and family members said Johnson, “lived and loved to ride the black top.”

Johnson is survived by his three children, Leslie, Jerri and Cindy; his brother and sister, Tom and Gail; his grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

A celebration and memorial will be held Saturday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the entrance to the Eagle Cemetery, where a tree has been planted in Johnson’s memory. Members of the local chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars will attend the service.

Guests will then go to the Eagle Town Park for the celebration.

Guests are invited to ride from the park to the Pastime in Gypsum and then to Brush Creek Saloon in Eagle for a memorial.

All donations in lieu flowers will be donated to the Hogs and Rods Toy Run for the Eagle County area.
