Obituary: Horacio Jaramillo

On Friday April 18, 2025 we lost our beloved Husband,Father, Grandfather and Great grandfather. Horacio P Jaramillo(91) of Red Cliff Co. who passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. Horacio was born October 6,1933 in Sevilleta, New Mexico to Evaristo and Albinita Jaramillo. He was raised in Sevilleta and attended school in New Mexico where he later received his GED. He then later served in the US military.
Soon after he moved to Gilman Colorado to work in the mine where he then met the love of his life Rosemary and wed on November 23, 1963. They went on having a family and were married for 61 beautiful years.
Horacio was very skilled which lead to his employment on many projects in the growing valley. He helped in the construction of the Eisenhower tunnel in the spring of 1968, as well as helping in the building of the Cascade the Lodge and many other hotels we see in the valley. The last employment Horacio had was the school district where he was the lead custodian at Battle Mountain High School for 16 years where he then retired.
Horacio was very kind and loving where he always lent a helping hand and gave when one was in need. He loved hunting, fishing which were his passion. He also loved spending time with his great grandchildren.
Horacio was proceeded in death by his parents Albinita, Evaristo Jaramillo his sisters Lizzy, Sophia and his brother Jr and son Christopher.
He was survived by his wife Rosemary Jaramillo, son Horace (Elsa) Jaramillo, daughters Henrietta and Carla Jaramillo and adopted daughters Sherice (PJ) Gurule and Mariah (Juan Pablo) Vega. Granddaughters Rebecca (Michael), Karen Jaramillo, five great grandchildren Sophia, Shania, Selena, Jacob and Giovannii and soon to be Izaiah and many cousins friends and family.
Services are yet to be known.
