Kenneth Allen Dahlberg, 57, passed away in Edwards on Oct. 27, 2017.
Kenny was born Jan. 5, 1960, to Waldo and Joyce (Darland) Dahlberg, of Effie, Minnesota. He was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Bigfork High School in 1978 and attended University Wisconsin Superior (UWS) on a baseball scholarship. He then went to work with his dad at Dahlberg Timber Co. before moving to Colorado in late 1984.
Kenny was the proud owner of the iconic restaurant The Brass Parrot in Avon from 1986 to 2007. The sports bar and restaurant allowed Kenny to showcase his passion for cooking, sports and love of people. Kenny was currently employed at The Home Depot in Avon, where he loved and was loved by his co-workers.
Kenny was also known as the "everything man." He could be found working in his yard, gardening, moving snow, repairing and constructing any number of items for his friends and family. He loved his family, the outdoors, boating at Turtle Lake, riding his horse, Bogie, and playing with his many, many German shepherds.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Joyce Dahlberg. He is survived by his wife, Kris, and her daughter, Alicia; sisters Cynthia (Larry) Byers, of Oswego, Illinois; Linda (John) Hanson, of Marcell, Minnesota; and Nancy Dahlberg, of Savannah, Texas; nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
A memorial service is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at Gracious Savior Lutheran Church, 33520 U.S. Highway 6 in Edwards. A celebration of life will follow immediately afterward in the church atrium with light refreshments. Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 1504, Edwards, CO 81632.
