Olson memorial set for Monday
Olson was a native of St. Petersburg, Fla., returning to her mother’s Treasure Island, Fla., home in July.
Olson was a 1984 graduate of Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was an avid outdoorswoman who loved the mountains and enjoyed hiking and skiing, as well as scuba diving.
A Vail resident for nine years, Olson was the office manager for Heid Construction. Rik Heid described her as “a pistol who will be remembered by many for her spunk.” Friends said she was also a thoughtful supporter of other breast cancer patients.
Survivors include: her mother and stepfather, Kathleen and Yvon Jardon of Treasure Island; and her father, Ken Olson, of St. Petersburg.
At 3:15 p.m. Monday, friends will meet informally in the Blue Moon Restaurant and Bar at the top of the Lionshead gondola at Eagle’s Nest to share memories of Yvette.
