Pastor Don Hanan died Sunday

Pastor Don Hanan of Word of Life Worship Center died on Sunday. He was 48.

Hanan was born on March 11, 1959. He devoted most of his adult life to God’s service, family members said.

From 1983 to 1990, he and his wife, Vicki, served as children’s pastors for New Creation Church in Glenwood Springs. In December of 1990 Don and Vicki took over as pastors of Anointed Christian Fellowship in Gypsum, which later became Word of Life Worship Center.

Hanan wrote a ministerial column for The Eagle Valley Enterprise from November 1998 to October of 2004.

Hanan is survived by his wife; sons John, Caleb, and Nate; mother Donna Hanan; sisters Jackie and her husband, Don Walters, Debbie and her husband, Jan Gossner, and Susan and her husband, Michael Clark; and brothers Mike Hanan and his wife, Sandy, and Waymen Hanan and his wife, Stacy.

The community is invited to a celebration of Hanan’s life at the Eagle Valley High School Auditorium ft 2 p.m., Friday. Please dress comfortably and casually. There will be a buffet following the service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hanan Family Fund, through Word of Life Worship Center.
