Randy John “Red” Richards, 55, son of Jane and Flip Richards, and husband of loving wife Deb Burkholder Richards, passed away in his sleep on June 6 in the presence of his large and loving family gathered in Flagstaff for a typical family celebration.

In addition to his parents, Jane and Flip, and his devoted wife of 31 years, Deb, Randy is survived by son Jeremy and his wife, Allison, and their 7-month daughter, Macie Grace; daughter Lindsay and her husband, Ray, and their 7-month old son, Ace Raymond. Both grandchildren enhanced his life and added to his appreciation and enjoyment of his new role as “grandpa.” Also, he is survived by brother Rick and his wife, Loretta; brother Rob and his wife, Deb, and their children, Wayde and Cole; sister Rhonda Miller and her husband, Mel, and their children, Bryan, Dustin and his wife, Teresa and their son Andrew; Candice Baier and her husband, Jon, and their children, Jenica and Carter; sister Roxanne Hrinko and her husband, Mike, and their children, Kayla and Cody. Also, his loving in-laws, Margo and Jack Burkholder; and brother-in-laws Scott Burkholder and his wife, Karmen, and their children, Bryson and Max; and Doug Burkholder and his wife, Trish. Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to mention – all trying to cope with this unexpected and heartfelt loss of our fun-loving, lovable and humorous, one-of-a-kind Red who touched all of our lives so beautifully in so many ways. His presence will also be missed by his many co-workers where he was employed as an assessor for Maricopa County.

A memorial service celebrating his life was held earlier this month in Peoria, Ariz.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to a church/charity of your choice.
