Robin ‘Tex’ Adkison, formerly of Vail, 1967-2008
Robin Wade Scott Adkison, also known as “Tex,” of Freeport, Fla., passed away Monday. He was 40.
He was born March 23, 1967, in DeFuniak Springs, Fla., to Glenn Elvis Tracy Adkison and Belita Gail Dunaway.
He had been a resident of Freeport for the past four years, after moving from Vail. He was Baptist by faith. He loved the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Belita Gail Dunaway.
Adkison is survived by his father and step-mother, Glenn E. and Terri Adkison, of Milton, Fla.; son Jacob Daniel, of Colorado; and stepson, Jared Murphy, also of Colorado.
He is also survived by brothers Paul Hilbrant and wife, Julie, of Tallahassee, Fla., Brian Adkison and wife, Kate, of Panama City, Fla., and Doug Hilbrant of Milton; sisters, Pam Adkison Brown and husband, Joseph, of DeFuniak Springs, Denise Mack and husband, Kevin, of Milton; and Jackie Kim Adkison Leamy and husband, Walter, of Bowie, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Tex’s life will be held on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Eagle County Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall. A potluck will be served after the service.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund for son, Jake, has been established at Alpine Bank, and contributions may be made there.
