Former Gypsum resident Roy Allen Eachus Sr. died at his home in Silt, Colo. on Jan. 5. He was 66. He still enjoyed ranching, helping all of his neighbors, cutting wood and hunting and fishing with his grandchildren, family members said.

Eachus was born in Grand Junction on Nov. 22, 1939 to Arvel and Margaret Eachus (Carlyle). He was raised in Grand Junction and graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1958. He lived in several places before moving to Gypsum and finally retiring to Silt. Survivors include his sons, Roy Allen Jr. and daughter-in-law Debra of Fort Collins, Luke and daughter-in-law Diana of Golden, and Lonnie and daughter-in-law Debbie of Gypsum. He is also survived by a daughter, Debbie, of Grand Junction; his ex-wife, Judy, of Gypsum; grandchildren Danny, Dustin, Sarah, Thomas, Crystal, Derrick, Allicia and Scotty; great- grandchild Tayton; and a brother, Raymond, of Mountain View, Wyo.

Roy left behind his dog and best friend, Wee Little.There will be a private memorial service at a later date followed by a barbecue. Cards may be sent to The Eachus Family, P.O. Box 1313, Eagle, Colo. 81631.
