Vail Daily obituary: Arthur Alan Abbey, 1963-2016
Born in San Mateo, California, most of his youth was spent in Eagle. Art graduated from Eagle Valley High School in Gypsum in 1982. He was in the Army for three months and was honorably discharged in April of 1985.
Art worked for Rocky Mountain Casting in Eagle from 1985 to 1988. From May, 1988 to May, 1997, he worked for Dolphin Inc. in Phoenix. In 1997, Art started working for American Aerospace Technical Castings Inc. in Phoenix.
He started at the bottom and worked his way to the top. He became president and eventually CEO of the company. Art loved working for AATC Inc. right up to his death. Art passed away peacefully at his own home in Peoria, Arizona, on March 31.
Art was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Ray Abbey, and one sister, Wanda Lorraine Abbey-Rivera.
He is survived by his dad and mom, Douglas Arthur Abbey and Betty Abbey; two brothers, Dwane Douglass Abbey and Sidney Paul Abbey; one sister, Theresa Marie Ladenburger; as well as eight nephews and four nieces.
