Vail Daily obituary: Ella Frances Bindley, 1926-2015
Ella F. Bindley, longtime resident of Eagle, passed away Saturday. Ella was born May 21, 1926, in Denver to Foster and Annie D. Smith.
Ella was an employee of Eagle County for 24 years, including serving as Eagle County assessor from 1979-1987. She was a longtime member of the Eagle United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She was well known for her charitable activities and her handiwork of knitting, quilting and cake decorating.
She is survived by sons Jack Bindley and wife Jeri, of Allen, Texas, and Eldon Bindley and wife Maggie, of Eagle; brothers, Harold Smith, of Denver, and Charles Glen Smith, of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren, John Roche (Chandra), Jennifer Roche, Erica Mosness (Heath), Jessica Browne (Kevin), Wren Bindley (Angie), Foster Bindley, Jackie Garcia (John) and Jacob Bindley; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ira Bindley, daughter Anna Kay Roche and brother Kenneth Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Eagle United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eagle United Methodist Church.
