Vail Daily obituary: Frank J. Warzak, 1925-2015

Frank J. Warzak, 89, passed away on Oct. 1 at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida, with his wife and daughter at his side.

He was born in Chicago and resided in East Vail for 30 years. He served in the army during World War II and was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge.

Frank founded and ran several successful companies involved in the design and manufacture of precision optical systems. He was personally responsible for many of the more popular camera lens designs used in the 1950s and ’60s.

Throughout his lifetime Frank was known for his sense of humor and calm, collected and uniquely good-natured disposition.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, LaVera (Daum); his daughter, Jean (Ron) Kyle; son, Barry (Anastasia) Warzak; and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be held in the near future.
