Vail Daily obituary: Larry Bernstein
Larry Albert Bernstein, 56, of Edwards, passed away with his wife, Marcia Bernstein, by his side Sunday at his home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Mount Moriah Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will follow after the services at the same location.
The family requests no flowers and suggests donations go to Vail Valley Foundation’s First Notes Program or to a charity of your choice in his memory. Donations to First Notes can be made online at http://www.vvf.org/education or by mailing a check to P.O. Box 309, Vail, CO 81658. Write “In memory of L.B./First Notes” in the memo line.
Larry leaves his wife and best friend of 33-plus years, Marcia Gelb Bernstein; son, David William Bernstein and his wife, Shawnee Yoder Bernstein, and grandbaby on the way, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania; his sisters Marilyn Krug, married to Steve Krug, of California, and Alyse Vernon, married to Chuck Vernon, of Texas; and many amazing nieces and nephews. Larry is predeceased by his parents, Phil Bernstein and Betty Mason Bernstein.
Larry grew up in Kansas City and lived in Chicago, Houston and finally glorious Colorado. He graduated from the University of Kansas — go Jayhawks — with a communications degree.
Larry worked many years in the electronic business with Cibcoa, Ultimate Electronics, Protection and Sounds Unlimited, BHP Billiton as the chief technology officer, the only American on the team, CIO of Florida Marine Transporters, Any Tickets, OBOS and KZYR, a radio station in Vail.
Larry was a man who cherished his family and friends completely, and we will miss him and his presence that radiated among us. Condolences may be left online at http://www.mtmoriah.net.
