Lu started her life as a surgical nurse in Rochester, New York. Then became a loving wife and a soccer mom to her two sons. Lu and Don bought their first home in the Vail Valley in the late ’80s and the journey to a beautiful life in the mountains began. Lu was a guest service volunteer for Vail Mountain for 13 years. She planned countless mountain adventures for Vail Club 50 and participated in countless activities with the Arrowhead Alpine Club. Lu loved every day of her life. Lu fought a stoic battle with cancer and lived a beautiful life, never being defined by her illness. She will be missed by many, but her spirit and love for life will live forever.
To celebrate Lu’s life, please join her family and friends on Aug. 25 at the Beaver Creek Chapel. The Memorial Mass will start at 1:30 p.m. with a reception to follow.
