Maria Teresa Cordova, 81, of Bond, died Nov. 3.

She was born June 25, 1930, in Chamisal, N.M., to Agipito and Gabriella Vasquez. She was married to Jose Delaido Cordova in December 1951 in Chamisal.

Teresa and Delaido met as children and were married just short of 60 years. She was the loving mother and homemaker for six children, having lived through the Depression while her husband worked for the Rio Grande Railroad. They lived in several places but resided in Bond for the last 24 years. Teresa had a strong Catholic faith.

She is survived by sons Bobby (and Lyn) Cordova, of Palisade, Michael Cordova (and Debbie Coffing), of Fruita, and Joe Lawrence (and Connie) Cordova, of Bond; daughters Porfiria (and Martin) Bania, of Arvada, and Crisitine Cordova of Glenwood Springs; and sister Delme Romero of Chamisal, N.M.

Teresa is also survived by eight grandchildren, Justin Cordova, of Palisade, Jamie Cordova, of Grand Junction, Kreed Cordova, of Grand Junction, Kaid Cordova, of Phoenix, Michael Bania of Lakewood, Autumn Cotterall of Sunbury, Pa., and Talon and Jessie Cordova of Bond, as well as six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Mercy Cordova Cotterall.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. today at the McCoy School. Interment will be at McCoy Cemetery. There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. today
