Vail Daily obituary: Michael Anderson
Our Michael died Monday, Feb. 27. It was sudden and unexpected at the age of 47.
I held him close, I told him how much he was loved and thanked him for being our everything, giving us such happiness and for his unwavering companionship and love. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Skyler and Lela, his wife Carolyn, his sister and five nieces and nephews of whom he had made plans for a family reunion to see them this summer after not seeing them for a few years. He is also survived by his mother and father.
If you ever asked Carolyn how many children she had, then she would tell you three — she considered Mike to be her third child; so full of life, a big laugh and an even bigger loving heart. He was always up for an adventure with his family — from weekend movie nights, dirt biking, ski Fridays, ziplining in the forests, snorkeling with honu and barracuda, making potato cannons, launching water rockets, pulling the kids on the tube behind the ATV, playing king of the mountain and making the perfect sledding hill. We will miss your smile, laughter and you announcing, “Honey, I am home.” You will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.
Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Mike’s life in their own way — spend time with your children, ski your favorite run, go for a hike, take a walk on the beach with your loved ones and make a toast to enduring friendships, life-long and beyond.
