Vail Daily obituary: Miral Pandya, 1959-2015
Former Vail resident Miral Pandya passed away on Monday at her home in Gujarat, India, where she returned to live with her father after being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2012.
Born in Mwanza, Tanzania, on Dec. 22, 1959, Miral and her family moved to India when she was 11, where she eventually received an undergraduate degree. In 1990, Miral relocated to Denver, where she attended Metro State University for a bachelor’s degree in international hotel management.
In 1993, Miral moved to Vail and worked at Jumpers, Montage and then Roxy in Beaver Creek, where she was manager for 13 years. In addition, she worked part-time at Splendido restaurant.
Miral is survived by her father, Kalyanjibhai Patel, and cousins Rupen and Janki Patel, Sonal and Bhim Batra, Shilpi and Kumar Dandavati, as well as Bharati and Veeru Dandavati from Denver.
Her mother, Gangaben Patel, died in 2005.

It is said, “When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.” Miral was a treasure who will be sorely missed by her friends and family in India, as well as those in Vail who were lucky enough to have had her touch their lives.
Memorial service for Miral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at The High Church in the Small Sanctuary, 9077 West Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO 80226; 303-237-3851.
