Vail Daily obituary: Rosabel Gallegos-Cordova, 1928-2015
Few people accomplish what they want in life, and most people only impact those closest to them. Rosabel Gallegos-Cordova was not most people, and the legacy she leaves paints footprints on the hearts of all she met. Rosabel was born in Villa Grove on May 18, 1928, and bought her house in Minturn in 1960. Eleven siblings, six kids, 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren have lived the power of her love and strength, and the legacy she leaves will affect the world far into the future.
A pillar of faith, and a queen of the social graces, Rosabel led not only her family, but also her congregation and senior services for many years. A woman of countless talents, she served the world for 87 years and peacefully passed of natural causes on Sept. 29. There is no end to the love and perseverance her life represented, and her graceful devotion will live on through generations. Rosabel Cordova was a matriarch who led life by example and forever impacted everyone she met. She was a mustard seed, and the ripple of her life will grow into waves of goodness. May her spirit forever dance in the grace of the Lord and the tenderness of our hearts.
Please join us at St. Patrick’s Parish in Minturn on Monday for the rosary, 7 p.m., and Tuesday at 10 a.m. for services to honor Rosabel’s life.
