Vail Daily obituary: Russell C. Beck, Oct. 21, 1933, to May 14, 2017
Russell was born on Oct. 21, 1933, at home in Red Cliff to Earl Ira Beck and Dessie Tomlin Beck. He was the youngest of six boys. He grew up in the house on Water Street in Red Cliff. His father, mother and four of his brothers preceded him in death.
Russell graduated from high school in Red Cliff in 1951, and he and Bobbye Carol Ginther were married in 1952. The couple had six children born to them, Terry, Crystal, Floyd, Barry, Thomas and Jim. Thomas is deceased.
Russell worked in timber and as an electrician for several government agencies, including the National Park Service at Glacier Park and the Western Area Power Administration.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbye Carol; his daughters, Terry and Crystal; his sons, Floyd, Barry (Ursula) and Jim (Sue); five grandchildren, Christopher, Arron, Kristie, Alexander and Larissa; and five great-grandchildren.
Russell passed away suddenly at home on Sleepy Hollow Drive in Bailey on May 14, 2017.
Paul Cuthbertson, a lifelong local of Eagle and Summit counties, died while skiing up to the Polar Star Inn to meet some friends for a celebration of his 21st birthday on Friday night.
