William Robert Clem, 82, of St. George, Utah, formerly of Vail, died Oct. 28.
He was born July 28, 1929, in Anderson, Ind. His parents were Lee F. and Betty Clem. He married Franziska Anna Winkler on June 16, 1956, at Oberammergau, Bavaria, Germany.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1975 with Special Forces, Special Operations Group and as a Military Intelligence investigator. Among his military awards were the Combat Infantry Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge and Vietnamese Parachutist Badge.
He earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of the State of New York, Albany, New York.
He is survived by his wife; son Keith M., wife Carolyn and grandson Robert; son Marc S., wife Brenda and grandchildren Jeni and Jason; and one daughter, Michele F. Clembury, husband Damon and grandsons Geb and Llyr.
Funeral services will be held next summer in Frankton, Ind.
