Occupy Denver rallies on movement’s anniversary
DENVER (AP) – Supporters of Occupy Denver are showing their support Occupy Wall Street efforts nationwide.
They gathered outside the Denver City and County Building for a rally at noon and then marched from there down the 16th pedestrian mall. They shouted slogans like “We got sold out, banks got bailed out.”
There were no apparent arrests during the rally, which also celebrated the two-month anniversary of the Occupy movement.
During the rally at the city building, 10 police officers on bicycles watched the crowd. Several dozen police officers stood at the state Capitol building hundreds of yards away.
Another rally is planned at 6 p.m. in Civic Center Park.
