Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

EDWARDS, Colorado – Alpine Arts Center’s fall schedule includes a dynamic lineup of art classes for all ages, which begin the week of Oct. 4. Classes such as “Mommy and Me Get Messy,” “Clowning Around with Clay,” and “Outrageous Outfits” are among the classes being offered for children.

Adult classes include the popular “Ladies Clay Nights,” “Painting Studio for All Levels,” and “Camera to Computer,” as well as a number of one-day workshops. The complete class schedule, with more than 30 art offerings, is available on the art center website,, along with class descriptions and easy online registration.

“New this month is an adult ‘Art Night Out’ scheduled for tonight, which is an upbeat art event for the artistic and not so artistic,” says Lauren Merrill, owner and art instructor at the center. “We encourage everyone to come experience art in some form, whether art is a passion, a hobby, or just a fun way to add some culture and creativity into our active mountain lifestyles, and Art Night Out is the perfect way to start.”

In addition, there are also events for kids and teens on the October calendar. There is a “Kids Art Party” (aka parents night out) on Oct. 8, two “No School Art Camps” scheduled to coincide with school closures on Oct. 11 and 18, a “Teen Mural Painting Party” on Oct. 22, and a “Make Your Own Halloween Costumes” on Oct. 23.

“October is jam packed with events because as locals, there isn’t much to do until the mountain opens. We hope to fill that gap and give our community some exciting and creative activities this off-season,” Merrill said.

The community is also welcome to stop into Alpine Arts Center anytime during business hours for art activities, paint your own pottery, or to view the October gallery exhibit “From Field To Studio: studio paintings and their plein-air inspirations” featuring Denver artists Jeanne Hougen and Jeanne Echternach.

As a one-time offer, customers can save 20 percent on fall classes and workshops by registering online and entering online coupon code “welcome” at checkout. For more information on Alpine Arts Center’s programs and fall registration, go to or call 970-926-2732.
