Off the Hill: Bowling, Food and fun found at Bol in Vail

By Tricia Swenson | Off the Hill
Where can you find dinner, dancing, bowling and a lively bar all under one roof? Bol offers all that and more at Solaris in Vail Village. Housing the only bowling lanes up-valley, Bol gives you a different way to interact with your family and friends. “When you look at what the town has to offer I think bowling in general is just a great social activity at any age,” said Tony Herrera, director of operations at Bol. Beyond being a bowling alley, Bol is a restaurant that is sought out for its menu, which takes classic dishes and serves them up in a new and creative ways. From ribs and wings to flatbread pizzas to salmon, your entire party will find something to please the palate. Although Bol is very family-friendly, it’s sleek and modern decor lends itself to their nightclub activities. The DJ Series has brought in big names that play all over the world. “We really look at Bol as more of a concert and entertainment venue and not just a restaurant and a bowling alley,” Herrera said. They wrap up their DJ Series on April 21st with a closing weekend party with DJ Craze playing hip-hop, Miami bass, trap, breaks and dubstep. You don’t have to stay up late for dance music. Bol has a dinner DJ spinning from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. “We see a lot of families singing along or dancing. We even have had conga lines form throughout the dining room and bowling alley,” Herrera said. Tuesday night is locals’ night with $3 draft beer, $7 wells and $9 wines. Saturday night is ladies’ night where ladies get their first drink for free. Ask about their special barrel of Knob Creek and coming soon will be a special barrel of Maker’s Mark. It’s a venue that is unmatched in this valley. “When you walk in here, first you’re surprised there’s a bowling alley. Second, you’re surprised at how amazing our culinary team is,” Herrera added. “You won’t find this anywhere else in the world.”
