Off the Hill: Retro Dental opens practice at Buck Creek Medical Plaza in Avon
By Tricia Swenson | Off the Hill
Retro Dental is now open for business and invites you to come in and experience not only their top-notch services but also their grand views of Beaver Creek and beyond. Retro Dental’s approach is old school charm coupled with the latest in technology. Retro Dental is family-owned and operated by Darren Kessler, DDS and Elyse Resnick Kessler, DDS. Darren Kessler remembers wanting to be a dentist as a kid. “From all my childhood experiences, I spent a lot of time in the dental chair and grew to know my orthodontist and my general dentist and I always thought it was a profession that I wanted to do,” he said. Elyse Kessler grew up around it, too. Her father is an orthodontist and now has a practice in the Vail Valley. “I feel that it is a great career for a woman, I can work part time if I need to, as a mom it’s a good profession,” she said. Treating the family is a special focus for Retro Dental. Flat screen TV’s that play cartoons and little treats for being good patients can easily be found at their state of the art office. “It’s multigenerational, from the grandchildren to the parents to the grandparents. We see the whole family,” Elyse Kessler said. Retro Dental focuses on getting to know each patient. “Although we may be offering a filling, a root canal or a same-day crown, a lot of our time is honestly getting to know our patients and hearing about their stories, their experiences, their lives,” Darren Kessler said. “I love it because you get to spend time with the people.” Learn more about today’s technology in dentistry and see their beautiful new setting at their open house on Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Buck Creek Medical Plaza in Avon.
