The Vail International Dance Festival and Bravo! Vail Music Festival may have come to an end, but we still have a few more events coming up at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater.
On Saturday, Ed Fest will be held at the venue for the very first time, and on Tuesday, the Motet out of Denver will take the stage for the Hot Summer Nights Concert Series. The Vail Music Faire takes the stage on Aug. 28 and Jeremy Camp winds down the season on Sept. 4. With this diverse lineup of entertainment, the question isn’t “are you going to go?” but rather, “what are you going to wear?”
Vail fashion can be a bit tricky. Yes, we are a sporty town and athletic wear or even “athleisure” wear can be found on a daily basis while out doing various activities, but at night it is fun to shun the spandex and dress up a bit. We checked in with some of the local shops to get some tips on trends that will work at the amphitheater.
You can’t go wrong with jeans, especially this time of year when the temperatures cool down. Cassie Newburg, of Frinje in Beaver Creek, recommends the Mia Mid-Rise Flare by Hudson in the figure-slimming midnight wash to go with anything from T-shirts to cashmere. Pair that with an Inzi double-handle satchel in baby blue to hold your essentials at the concerts.
For the guys, the AG four-pocket, lightweight stretch shorts have been popular, according to Kayla Jenson at Avalon Clothing Company in Lionshead. Top it off with a blue checked or striped button-down shirt in poplin from Frank & Eileen for a complete look.
Whitney Hathorn was a stylist in Los Angeles before returning to Colorado to open Kiwi Boutique in Edwards in 2012. Hathron and her employees want everyone to feel as if they are their personal stylist and came up with three great looks for different style preferences and body types in today’s video.
This town’s most controversial issue in years may be resolved Tuesday.
