BEAVER CREEK, Colorado – Celebrating the final days of summer in the Rockies, Oktoberfest returns to Beaver Creek Resort with free entertainment on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Beaver Creek Village. Unforgettable Fire, a U2 tribute band, headlines the music lineup starting at 4:30 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday nights. The annual Oktoberfest Shuffle takes place Saturday at 10 a.m.
Along with beer and brats, Beaver Creek serves up foot-stomping oom-pah-pah music featuring the Helmut Fricker Band and Trachtenkapelle from Beaver Creek’s sister resort in Lech Zurs, Austria.
Dress in your best Oktoberfest gear for the Bavarian costume contest on Saturday at 4 p.m. and test your musical talents in the annual children’s alpenhorn contest on Sunday at 2 p.m. Get there early to sign up as spaces are limited.
Saturday morning the Oktoberfest Shuffle kicks off with a 5 km, 10 km or the family 1 km race across the scenic trails of Beaver Creek Mountain with a pre-registration price of $25 or day-of price of $35. Children 12 and younger participate for free. All proceeds benefit the Bright Future Foundation, a non-profit working to empower individuals and families to lead safe, productive lives through advocacy, crisis intervention and mentoring.
