Old gas station now a loading zone in Vail

Daily Staff Report

VAIL – A temporary Vail Village loading zone on the east side of Vail Road north of La Bottega has been closed to delivery parking as of today. To accommodate deliveries in that part of the village, the town of Vail has opened a temporary area for delivery parking at the old Vail Amoco station, which closed last week. The area will allow access to merchants in the Vail Village Inn Plaza and other nearby businesses. The loading zone located on the west side of Vail Road near the service station entrance will also be available. While parking is available at the gas station, town officials have four requests of truckers making deliveries:• Use the space efficiently to accommodate as many vehicles as possible.• Do not leave trash of any kind.• Do not park in the parking lot of Chateau Vail unless making a delivery to that business.• Don’t park on the sidewalk on the west side of Vail Road. The new parking are is only temporary, and could be closed as soon as May, when construction begins on the new Four Seasons hotel. Other delivery zones will be found to work around the several projects going on in the village this year. For more information, call Vail Police Commander Steve Wright at 479-3433.Vail, Colorado
