Vail official report: 0″ new snow

Vail Daily field report: 1″ new snow

Weather: Mostly cloudy, sun poking out at times. Dark skies — looks like snow is on the way.Liftline status: Not bad anywhereRun of the day: Anything in Sun Up or Sun Down bowls

Breakdown: An inch here, an inch there, and before you know it’s closing weekend and we’re still skiing the back bowls. Vail may have reported no new snow today, but those who were out yesterday afternoon know it was absolutely dumping … for about 15 minutes. It may have only been an inch but it has improved the surface for closing week and with Vail giving guests are rare treat and leaving the back bowls open, it’s truly a great day to get out and enjoy some turns.

Snowcast: Plenty of snow is on the way, and Tuesday should be a legitimate powder day, says meteorologist Joel Gratz.
