On the Hill: Big powder day at Vail
Brought to you by and the .Vail official report: 6″ new snowVail Daily field report: 8-10″ freshWeather: Dumping snow. Not too cold.Liftline status: Surprisingly not badRun of the day: ForeverBreakdown: It’s slopestyle finals at the Burton US Open, but something tells us these guys would rather be out riding powder. This storm snuck up on us a little and absolutely dumped snow over the last 12 hours, there’s a foot of brand new snow in places. The freeway was clogged up in both directions at 8:30 due to a Coca-cola truck that went off the road, taking commuters 45 minutes to get one mile through Dow Junction. That led to lesser lift lines this morning.Snowcast: Looks like it should persist!
