Brought to you by and the .Vail official report: 6″ new snow in last 24 hoursVail Daily field report: Nothing new this morningWeather: Partly cloudy, a crisp chill in the airLiftline status: Still nothing at Chair 6Run of the day: Anything on Golden PeakBreakdown: Vail reported 6 inches in the last 24 hours, 2 overnight, but we’re fearing that measurement fell victim to the measuring man’s bane, the meniscus. As snow tends to be more attracted to the weather stick than the other snow particles, they’ll tend to gather around that stick while the true measurement is less. Also, the wind could have played a factor, as this happened once last season too where the wind blew a bunch of snow into the measuring stick. Some snow fell after yesterday’s 5 a.m. reading, but not 6 inches. Snowcast: It did snow some yesterday, and it could continue more over the next few days, say forecasters.
