On the Hill: Vail’s Chair 4 opens; plenty of powder
Vail official report: 6 inches in last 24 hours, 3 inches overnight.
Vail Daily field report: On ungroomed Zot, it felt like a foot or more.
Liftline Status: Gondola One was jam packed this morning, but the maze takes less than 10 minutes to get through.
Weather: Still snowing slightly, but the sun looks like it’s ready to poke through the clouds. It’s cold again, which is a good thing with all this powdery snow we’re enjoying.
Breakdown: Chair 4 is running! We’ve been waiting all season to get to the top of the mountain, and the good things come to those who wait. Most of the terrain off mountain top is open, including Christmas, Swingsville, Espresso, Cappuccino, Whistle Pig and Zot. A lot of it is ungroomed with plenty of powder to find.
Snowcast: There’s a-slight change it’s going to continue, then we’ll get a break for a few days until Friday,-when NOAA says we can expect more. –
