Vail official report: 0″ new snow, 14″ in last week

Vail Daily field report: There was definitely a new layer of dusty snow on the slopes this morning, maybe only a centimeter or two but enough to layer over the groomers nicely.

Weather: Very cold again, although it may be a little warmer than it has been over the last few days

Liftline status: No lines anywhere

Run of the day: Faro was just opened yesterday

Breakdown: Vail locals love their early morning turns, and on this crisp December day, the enormous “Vail First Chair crew” attacked Born Free for On the Hill, enjoying a few centimeters of fresh dust on top of a glorious groomer. Traveling from the top of the Eagle Bahn to the bottom of Gondola One in 4 mins, those morning skiers and riders recommend you keep your face protected in the cold temperatures we’ve been experiencing.

Snowcast: “Light snow is possible Friday through Sunday for northern Colorado, but accumulations will be minimal at best. Expect a return to snowy and cold weather starting Friday the 20th,” reports Meteorologist Joel Gratz with opensnow.com.
