Report: Vail Daily reporter John LaConte jogs up to, and climbs alongside, the East Vail waterfall. The East Vail Waterfall is a well-known landmark as well as a popular spot for summer hiking and winter ice climbing. The site provides habitat for migratory and resident birds and serves as occasional summer range for mule deer, fox, great horned owl, porcupine and black bear.
