Vail official report: 0 inches new snow since 5 a.m. Saturday; 26 inches in last week
Vail Daily field report: There’s a few inches of fresh on the ground this morning, with more accumulating
Weather: Snowing, cold and windy with blowing snow on the ridges
Liftline status: Not bad at all, especially compared to Saturday’s enormous crowds
Run of the day: Tree runs are where you’ll find the best visibility today
Breakdown: Most of the back was closed this morning due to blowing winds, but it looks like the powder is stacking up nicely on top of all that fresh snow that was tracked out by the large crowds on Saturday’s bluebird powder day. If the snow continues the way it was falling this morning, there should be massive amounts of powder on the slopes by the end of the ski day today.
Snowcast: The National Weather service forecasts 7 to 11 inches of snow on Sunday and another 1 to 3 on Sunday night. It also forecasts a 50 percent chance of snow Monday.
