One dead in crash
Vail, CO Colorado
On Friday at approximately 11:50 p.m. on westbound Interstate 70 near Edwards, a white 1999 Ford Expedition lost control in a righthand curve, ran off the right side of the roadway and rolled two full times, ejecting an adult male passenger, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement from the Colorado State Patrol.
Three males and five females ranging in age from 16 to 22 were in the vehicle, the statement said. The seven survivors suffered minor to moderate injuries and were treated and released from Vail Valley Medical Center, the statement said. The female driver and one female passenger were the only ones wearing seatbelts, and no one in the vehicle had identification, the statement said. The State Patrol was working on identifying them and notifying next of kin, the statement said.
The State Patrol suspected alcohol as a factor in the accident, the statement said.
