Open house scheduled to discuss Avon development

AVON – A developer who wants to build a gondola and the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa along the Eagle River in Avon will host two public meetings this week to discuss the project.East West Partners will hold open houses Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meetings will be held in the Avon Council Chambers located at 400 Benchmark Road. The open house will be an informal setting, where residents can ask questions and give input about the development planned for the northern of the Eagle River alongside Avon Road. Following the open house, East West Partners will have a joint meeting with Avon’s Planning and Zoning Commission (an advisory board) and the Town Council on Tuesday. East West Partners is proposing the $300 million riverside development that will connect Avon to Beaver Creek via a gondola that will carry skiers and snowboarders some of the way up Beaver Creek Mountain. The project also includes the resort and spa, timeshares, homes and approximately 40,000 square feet of shops.Vail, Colorado
