Out-of-bounds skier rescued at Vail

VAIL, Colorado ” A lost skier was found after skiing out of bounds Monday from Vail Mountain’s Blue Sky Basin in Colorado.

The skier was reported missing at about 3:45 p.m., and was located by Vail Ski Patrol in the Lime Creek drainage just before 5 p.m., said Don Dressler of the Forest Service.

The skier was unhurt, and was taken down the mountain to Red Cliff, Dressler said.

Dressler said he wasn’t sure why the person had exited the ski area boundary.
