Paddy’s in Eagle-Vail to celebrate grand reopening
July 2, 2010
EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado – Paddy’s Pub and Eatery officially marks its grand re-opening this weekend with a three-day musical celebration and Fourth of July barbecue.
On Saturday night, Paddy’s will present the rock, reggae and blues grooves of Shards of Gravity. With frontman Kevin LaCarrubba at the wheel, this local group, comprised of veteran talent from a conglomeration of bands, wends its way across the map of musical styles with one common thread tying it together: the ability to fill the dance floor.
Saturday’s late show starts at 11 p.m. to time with the finish of Avon’s fireworks display. The show is free and Paddy’s will be plying a plethora of pub specials throughout the weekend to commemorate its grand re-opening under new ownership of Susan and Robb Swimm.
The Celebration Weekend culminates on July 4 Sunday, with a traditional barbecue buffet starting at 4 p.m., featuring burgers, brats and all the trimmings. The flames on the barbie will just be fading as the music comes back up to crescendo with the soulful R and B influenced rock ‘n’ roll of The Congress. Back for a reprise performance in the Pub, this up-and-coming Denver band has been developing its local cred with past performances that have been nothing short of dynamic and very different from the valley’s usual music fare. At the very least, this promises to be a weekend of music suited to the moment which marks the birth of our nation and fitting for the rebirth of one of the valley’s iconic gathering spots.
Paddy’s Pub and Eatery is located on Highway 6 in Eagle Vail. For more information, call Paddy’s at 949-6093 or go to http://www.paddysvail.com.
