Paid parking at Ford Park resumes June 13

VAIL – Ford Park visitors can pay $5 for close-in parking during 38 peak days this summer. Close-in parking will begin Friday for the Legends of Hip Hop concert, part of the TEVA Mountain Games. Close-in parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available for events including the Hot Summer Nights concert series, Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, Vail International Dance Festival and the Vail Lacrosse Tournament. Close-in parking fees will be collected from either 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. depending on the day’s event schedule.There are other options for parking on event days. The Vail Village parking structure will remain free this summer with 10-minute bus service to the park during special events. For those who prefer to walk, it’s about a 10-minute stroll from the parking structure to the park. There is a drop-off area at the Ford Park entrance west of the parking lot on peak days.Ford Park contains the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and Vilar Pavilion, the Vail Nature Center, three softball fields, eight tennis courts, a soccer field, bike paths, picnic tables and a children’s playground.
