Parents’ night out programs start Saturday

VAIL — The Vail Recreation District’s parents’ night out series begins Saturday, Jan. 16, followed by a second event Jan. 22. For parents who are short of a babysitter, the district’s Youth Services branch is offering six different fun-filled dates this ski season.

All evening events will take place from 5-9 p.m. and are available to children ages 4 to 12. Cost is $35 for one child and $25 for siblings, including dinner, games and art for everyone. Dates on Saturdays and Sundays are Jan. 16, Feb. 13 and March 20 with drop-off and pick-up at the Imagination Station, located on the second floor of the Lionshead Welcome Center. Friday dates are Jan. 22 and March 4, with drop-off at Red Sandstone Elementary School and pick-up at the Imagination Station. A final “Shut Down the Mountain” date will be offered April 9 from 2-7 p.m. with drop-off and pick-up at the Imagination Station.

The parents’ night out registration form is available on the district’s website. The cost can be reduced $10 per child by reserving at least one week in advance. For more information, go to http://www.vailrec.com or call 970-479-2292.
