Daily Staff Report

EDWARDS – Local jewelry artist Linda Lebid left the corporate New York world for a life as an artist living in the Vail Valley. That was over four years ago, and her dream – and jewelry line – has grown, now boasting a Web site, residency in seven galleries and a booth at the Minturn Market each summer.

Lebid said she has an ability to highlight women’s best features with her jewelry, accenting a woman’s hair or eyes, while adding warmth to her skin tone.”I love seeing a woman’s confidence and style emerge when the perfect piece is designed for her,” Lebid said.In honor of Valentine’s Day, the artist visited the Shaw Cancer Center Wednesday to make jewelry for women who are undergoing cancer treatment. Lebid’s mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor so she has an understanding of what these women are going through.

“I know how hard it was for my mom, she is a strong woman,” Lebid said. “If I can help a few women feel beautiful and remind them that others have walked in their shoes, I will have done something worthwhile.”The French Press in Edwards will host Lebid in a jewelry show from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday. The event includes a wine tasting.
