Paving from Gypsum to Eagle completed

EAGLE COUNTY – A stretch of Interstate 70 between Gypsum and Eagle has been resurfaced and the project has earned a top rating for asphalt smoothness.

“This resurfacing project is quite an achievement,” said Martha Miller, the Eagle-area resident engineer for the Department of Transportation. “Matching new pavement with an existing shoulder on either side is difficult, especially with only one lift of new asphalt; Lafarge’s work was exceptional.”
The $3.3 million eight-mile pavement milling and resurfacing project took place between mile posts 139 and 147 and included work on both on- and off-ramps at both exits.
