Person of interest sought in Avon burglary

Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

AVON – A unit at 180 Nottingham Road in Avon was burglarized between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Monday. Police did not say what was taken but a tip from the public has lead Avon Police Department to ask for help in identifying a person meeting the following description:

A Hispanic male, approximately 25 to 35 years old and about 5-foot-6 with a slim build. He had short dark hair and dark eyes and was well-dressed in long sleeves, a collared shirt and jacket. He spoke very good English and possibly had a Bluetooth in his right ear,

This person had spoken with a resident at that complex asking about other units that may be for sale, police said.-

He said he was traveling through the area collecting real estate flyers to show his wife. The person he spoke with said he did not seem very interested in the pricing of the units, police say.

The person of interest is believed to have been driving a newer, light green Jeep SUV. It could possibly be a Liberty, Patriot, Commander or Cherokee.
