It’s Tom Whitehead time
You can go golfing for good this Friday by plunking down 150 tax deductible dollars and playing in the annual Tom Whitehead Golf Classic. It’s a benefit for some dandy cause that escapes our memory right now, but rest assured it’s worth playing hooky from work. You’ll be playing at the Cordillera Valley Club, and registration is 10:30 a.m. You get all kinds of cool payola. For more information, Call Chad Brasington at 328-1251.
Guzman benefit Saturday
Brianna Guzman’s family is trying to raise money for special therapy treatments for Brianna, who reacted severely to a vaccination in 1997, suffering considerable brain damage. In 1997, Kim Guzman took her perfectly healthy 2-month-old daughter, Brianna, to the pediatrician for standard vaccinations. A few hours later, Brianna Guzman stopped breathing. Her brain began to swell, and she almost lost her life.
The benefit is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Vail Neck and Back Pain Center, 2109 N. Frontage Road in Vail. It costs $25, and the donation gets you a consultation, exam and adjustment. The event also includes prizes, a raffle, aura readings, face painting, balloons, massages and a book-signing with Jeani-Rose Atchison who wrote “Every Day a Vegan.” Call 477-2225.
