Through smooth rhythm guitar and poignant vocals, Pete Kartsounes engages his crowd with original music; his true passion is apparent. Kartsounes delivers musical art with gusto and genuine pride. From gentle melodies to rockin’ riffs, the musician’s sound ranges from blues and rock to Americana and bluegrass

Kartsounes’ life work is dedicated to his love for music, and he has been playing professionally for 16 years. Having just released their fourth album, the Pete Kartsounes Band (P.K.B.) are attracting attention from fans and the media alike. The makings of a true folk classic, “The Only Way I Know,” is a powerful collection with meaningful lyrics and rambling twang. Within the songs, the self-proclaimed storyteller shares tales of “love, loss, hope, and adventure” with fans. The band includes Ryan Sapp on drums and Kevin Malone on bass and vocals. Each of these musicians shares a wealth of experience. Kartsounes himself has performed with the likes of the Jerry Garcia Band, Bill Kreutzman, moe, North Mississippi All-Stars, The Neville Brothers, Leftover Salmon and Yonder Mountain String Band. On Saturday, the P.K.B. will be joined by special guest Paul Murin who previously played in the Phish tribute band, PHIX.

Matching his passion for music, Kartsounes is enthusiastic about nature and philanthropy. His compassion for humanity led to the commencement of the Hike4Cancer Foundation (www.hike4cancer.org). The non-profit combines “his love of music, the outdoors, hiking, and community” to “help sustain organizations that provide support for families with children battling a critical illness,” he said. His music helps provide funding and awareness for the organization through album sales and live performances.
