VAIL — Several artists will show their works in Vail galleries this weekend. Among them is Kristin Knight at Masters Gallery Vail. Knight’s medium is abstract expressionism and precise realism. Through the sense of balance and design she conveys an emotional attachment and spirituality simply through mixed media and the use of collage. The artwork provokes a relationship with the viewer and the subject matter.
“Animals inspire me to paint their innocence, beauty, history and their story,” Knight said.
Knight will be in residence at Masters Gallery in Vail Village today and Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m. Masters Gallery is located on East Meadow Drive in Vail Village. For more information, call 970-477-0600 or visit http://www.mastersgalleryvail.com.
In addition, Galerie Zuger Vail will present the latest body of work by artist Ray Phillips. His medium is a combination of typography, abstract composition, collage work and other “hidden secrets.” His artwork is an intellectual pursuit.
“Enough is never enough. Each piece is like a series of small battles — something to overcome in an ongoing effort to find balance,” he said.
The exhibition of Ray Phillips’ new works will be held today through Monday between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Galerie Zuger is located on the second level at the Solaris Plaza in Vail Village. For more information, please call 970-476-5619 or visit http://www.galerie zugervail.com.
