The 35th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony ushers in the 2015-16 ski season and the beginning of the holidays at Beaver Creek on Friday, Nov. 27. The event starts at 4 p.m. with kids’ crafts and activities, followed by an ice-skating show at 5 p.m., plus a holiday poetry contest and performances by various groups from all over Colorado. Santa himself will drop in for a visit, and the evening closes with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. and a fireworks display over Beaver Creek Village around 6:30 p.m. For more information on Opening Weekend events, visit http://www.beavercreek.com.
