Special to the Daily |
Agave in Avon will host its first Tacos ’N’ Tunes event of the summer on Tuesday, June 21, featuring music from After Funk. After Funk has been causing a ruckus on the North American music scene with its unique sound and infectiously fun shows since its inception in March 2011. The Toronto-based power-funk group consists of Yanick Allwood (keyboards and vocals), Jaime Rosenberg (drums), Justin Bontje (bass) and Phil Tessis (guitar), who are frequently joined by a horn section and other collaborators. The band was selected as Electric Forest’s Instrumental Forester and played two sets at the festival, where they were featured alongside The String Cheese Incident, Lauryn Hill, Zeds Dead, Flying Lotus, Stephen Marley and more. Drink specials run from 9 to 11 p.m., with the free music starting at 9:30 p.m. Visit http://www.agaveavon.com to learn more.
